The NFL American football star O.J. Simpson, whose acquittal in the 1995 so-called “trial of the century” for the murders of his ex-wife and a friend shook the world, died at the age of 76.
“On April 10, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer,” his family wrote on the social network X. Simpson, born on July 9, 1947, in San Francisco, California, was a Hall of Fame member since 1985 for his performance in American football. But he also had five children, who keep a low profile.

Simpson was married twice, first to Marguerite Whitley, a marriage that lasted 11 years, from 1967 to 1979. The second marriage was to Nicole Brown Simpson, who was at the center of one of the most famous murder trials in US history. Whitley had three children with Simpson: Arnelle Simpson, who is now 55 years old, Jason Simpson, who is now 53 years old, and Aaren Simpson. Arnelle was born on December 4, 1968, and witnessed her father’s defense in the 1995 murder trial. She also testified in support of her father at a parole hearing in July 2017, following his conviction for kidnapping and armed robbery in 2008. She works in real estate.
Jason, born in 1970, has maintained a private life after his father’s murder trial and has been working as a culinary chef at a restaurant in Atlanta, St. Cecilia, since 2016. Aaren was the youngest daughter of Whitley and Simpson’s marriage and tragically died just before turning two on August 26, 1979, after drowning in a pool. Nicole Brown Simpson was brutally stabbed two years after divorcing O.J., on June 12, 1994, alongside her friend Ron Goldman, outside her home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. The couple had two children during their marriage, Justin Ryan Simpson, who is now 35 years old, and Sydney Brooke Simpson, who is now 38 years old.
Sydney was born on October 17, 1985, and was only 8 years old at the time of her mother’s murder. She is the eldest daughter of O.J and Nicole Brown and was raised by her aunt and Nicole’s sister, Tanya Brown. According to the Tampa Bay Times, she pursued a career in real estate and lived in St. Petersburg, Florida, until 2016. Justin Simpson, the youngest son of O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown Simpson, was born on August 6, 1988, and was only five years old at the time of his mother’s murder. Like his sister, Justin also moved to Florida in 2000 and works in the real estate sector.
