According to Vogue, Met Gala coverage gives tons of dollars. Funds are for Metropolitan Museum of Nueva York.
Met Gala is the most important Fashion Party in the history: Organized and presided over by Anna Wintour since 1995, its goal is to raise funds for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, the museum that has a curated collection of objects representing fashionable clothing from the 15th century to the present day.
According to Vogue, the collection does not stop growing thanks to the millions of views on social networks. The strategy of the entire marketing team is key :with celebrities like Zendaya, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande. Shakira, Camila Cabello and Kendall Jenner eager to show their dresses.
Video views, site traffic and social engagement of Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’, raised last year almost $22 million — another record for the event. In this MET 2024 the numbers are expected to be more spectacular.
In the first two days following the Met Gala, Vogue says, social channels saw raised to 12.3 billion.

“We wanted to better understand what really worked and move the needle on this, versus what we could eliminate from a bandwidth and resourcing perspective,” says Abigail Sjoberg, Vogue’s global senior director of audience development, social and analytics.
“The raw, grittier assets that the team could capture on the ground perform on platforms like Instagram and TikTok,” Sjoberg says. So, they doubled their resourcing on the ground, and developed a strategy to send Vogue’s global teams assets in real time.
“The Met Gala live stream, which ran for the third year in a row, generated 53 million views across 10 Vogue markets and social platforms. This doubled 2022’s viewership. Presenter La La Anthony and comedian Chloe Fineman, YouTuber Emma Chamberlain and writer Derek Blasberg hosted portions of the live stream”, says Vogue in its report.
According to the mitic magazine, storytelling across all channels was a priority. On the site. ”Countries including Germany, India, Italy, Japan and Mexico also topped site traffic records for the regions”.
In 2024 Met Gala is entitled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”.
Then public could visit Costume Institute’s spring 2024 exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion through first-hand research, conservation analysis, and diverse technologies—from cutting-edge tools, artificial intelligence, and computer-generated imagery to traditional formats of x-rays, video animation, light projection, and soundscapes.

Approximately 250 garments and accessories spanning four centuries will be on view, visually united by iconography related to nature, which will serve as a metaphor for the fragility and ephemerality of fashion and a vehicle to examine the cyclical themes of rebirth and renewal. The exhibition will breathe new life into these storied objects through creative and immersive activations designed to convey the smells, sounds, textures, and motions of garments that can no longer directly interact with the body.
